Joe Bishop resides in the City of Pineville.

He has served three consecutive terms as a Pineville City Councilman. He has chaired the Pineville City Council’s legal committee and has served on its financial Committee.

Mr. Bishop is a graduate of Pineville High School in 1987.

He is a Crew Foreman at Atmos Energy, where he has worked for 17 years. He is a certified steel pipeline welder.

He is a member of Alexandria Moose Lodge No. 51, a member of the United Way, where he has served on several panels.

He is a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pineville.

He is married to Misty Ducote Bishop, has two stepdaughters Carson Roberts and Cameron Roberts, and one daughter Brooke Bishop.

He is presently elected to serve as Police Juror in District B, which is mostly composed of the City of Pineville.

Mr. Bishop is Chairman of the Finance Committee and serves on the Courthouse, Economic Planning a nd Development Committee, the Public Works, Watershed and Agricultural Affairs Committee; the Workforce Development, Personnel, Fire and Homeland Security Committee; the Parochial Board Liaison Committee; the Grants, Public Health and Tourism Committee; the Municipal Liaison, Legal and Elections Committee; and the Insurance, Ambulance and Policy Committee of the Rapides Parish Police Jury.

He also serves on the Rapides Area Planning Commission.
