Parish Treasurer
The Parish Treasurer is responsible for the overall administration of the financial activities of the Police Jury. Duties include collection and custody of all monies, maintaining records of all indebtness and disbursement of all funds from the parish treasury as well as investment of all idle funds and ascertaining that funds are available to pay all obligations. The Treasurer must develop and administer a uniform central accounting system, prepare the operating and capital budgets and a monthly statement of revenues and expenditures, and procure all property, materials, supplies and services required under a central purchasing system. The Treasurer’s responsibilities include maintaining an inventory of parish property, managing computer operations and providing general administrative financial services to all departments and agencies as provided by law.
