Craig Smith

Craig Smith is a lifelong resident of Deville, Louisiana, graduating from Buckeye High School in 1979 and also attended Nashville Auto Diesel College earning a degree as a Diesel Technician.

Craig is married to Kimberly Knight Smith. They have two children, Quintin Smith and Magan Smith Deville, whom are both Nurses.  He has two grandchildren, Isabella and Lexton.

Craig is a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Deville and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

For over 40 years, he has been in the construction industry.

Craig has been employed with H&E Equipment Services in Alexandria, Louisiana, for 26 years as Service Manager.

He is currently serving his third term as Police Juror for District C, which includes all of Ward 11 and parts of Wards 9 and 10.

Craig is currently the President of the Police Jury for 2021.  Craig also served as President of the Police Jury for 2016, 2017 and 2020.  Craig also was Vice President of the Police Jury in 2015.  He was Chairman of the Workforce Development and Municipal Liaison Committee for 2019.  He is also a member of the Finance Committee; Public Works, Watershed and Agricultural Affairs Committee; Coliseum Liaison Committee; Grants, Economic Planning and Development Committee; Courthouse and Tourism Committee; Parochial Board Liaison and Legal Committee; Personnel, Elections and Health Committee and Insurance, Ambulance, Fire and Homeland Security Committee of the Rapides Parish Police Jury. 

As President of the Police Jury, he also serves on the Rapides Area Planning Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Regional Infrastructure Beltway Committee, and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Transportation Policy Committee.

He is a member of the National Organization of County Officials and serves on the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Steering Committee.

During his leisure time he enjoys hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends.Current President, 2021
