Parrish Giles is a native of Rapides Parish in Glenmora. He is serving his first term on the Rapides Parish Police Jury and at the age of 28 is one of the youngest elected in our parish to serve in this capacity. He represents District H which includes areas in Wards 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. He was Police Jury Vice President from October to December 2024.
Parrish is Chairman of the Public Works, Watershed and Agricultural Affairs Committee, and also serves on the Finance Committee; Workforce Development and Grants Committee; Tourism and Economic Planning and Development Committee; Courthouse, Coliseum and Facilities Committee; Parochial Board Liaison and Municipal Liaison Committee; Personnel, Elections, Insurance and Legal Committee; and Ambulance, Fire, Health and Homeland Security Committee of the Rapides Parish Police Jury.
Parrish recently served as a Justice of the Peace in Ward 4. He is a member of Glenmora Baptist Church. Parrish currently owns and operates Carl’s Catfish Hut in Oakdale where he enjoys visiting with customers from Central and Southwest Louisiana. He also owns and operates the Lone Oak Ranch in Glenmora.
Parrish is married to Ashley Giles, and they have two young children, Ava and Wallace. When not at work, duck hunting is a pastime he enjoys.
Parrish’s dad, Carl Giles, served on the Rapides Parish Police Jury many years ago. The desire to serve and help people is a family trait that Parrish follows to this day.
